Focus: Our research team strives to incorporate matters of evidence-based medicine into various projects. This includes formulating a clear research question (relevant populations, interventions, endpoints), developing a comprehensive strategy for literature search in electronic databases and other sources, critically evaluating the literature (partly with instruments developed in-house), and finally a statistical evaluation of the results. Compliance with the respective quality standards, transparency, documentation of the various work steps and reproducibility are particularly important to us.
Network: The research focus involves close networking with the Institute of General Practice and Evidence-Based Health Services Research (research team Semlitsch). A methodological cooperation with national universities (UMIT Tirol, University for Continuing Education Krems) as well as international institutions, such as Goethe University Frankfurt/Main, the Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Health Care (IQWiG) or the Institute for Applied Quality Promotion and Research in Health Care (aQua), has been established for many years. There is also close cooperation with the Cochrane Metabolic and Endocrine Disorders Group as well as the Cochrane Hyptertension Group.
